Position: Vice President for Private Investments

Michael is the Vice President for Private Investments at Mariner Wealth Advisors and sits on the Investment Committee.  Michael leads the private investments efforts at the firm and is responsible for manager research, selection, and advisor and client communications related to alternatives.  

Prior to joining Mariner, Michael was a Vice President at Comvest Partners, a West Palm Beach, FL middle-market credit and equity investment firm, where he was responsible for raising capital for Comvest’s private equity, special situations, and credit vehicles. Michael began his career at Blackstone in the Private Equity Investor Relations and Business Development function. He was involved in raising capital for Blackstone’s private equity and tactical opportunities investment funds as well as maintaining relationships with Blackstone’s institutional and individual Limited Partners. Following Blackstone, Michael served as a Senior Associate at the Obama White House in the Office of the President. Michael also served as a strategy consultant at Marakon where he provided strategic and business process guidance to executives after receiving his MBA. 

Michael received a BA, cum laude, in history and political science from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA, with Dean’s Honors, from Columbia Business School.
